John's Voice ...

John had an amazing voice, rich and expressive. Soothing.

I am so glad to have this, his reading of the last chapter of Davis Grubb's The Night of the Hunter.

Surely, Ellen. I thought the family wouldn't mind if I shared.

He sent it to me a few years ago. He used to talk about Davis all the time, about how he worked at the agency by day and wrote his novel by night. John thought I should do the same, get a "real" job to pay the bills and write in my off hours. So I think this file was one more way of him nudging me down that path.

he was my literature teacher in high school and we had watched this movie but at the end he read this same chapter to us
