About Me
Well, apparently, you can have multiple blogs, but you can't have multiple profiles. So this one will have to suffice for both sites. My Finding My Voice persona says: My dream is to get paid to sing. That dream is slightly complicated by two things: 1) I'm not a big fan of singing in public, and 2) Not many people get paid to sing. I figure, I'll focus on 1, and then maybe 2 will take care of itself. In the meantime, I'm a writer and editor. Mostly, I write and edit for other people, but someday, I'll find a way to get paid to write solely what I want to write. Until then, here we are. I write what I want, and you, hopefully, read it. But even if you don't, it's still the ultimate ego-trip. My The Cookie Queen's English persona says: It's always good to have more than one dream. And one of my others is to open a bakery someday. A cookie bakery. Hence my new blog, The Cookie Queen's English, a chronicle of this year's holiday baking season ... and beyond.

Amen!
I don't like to talk politics in blogging and I respect everyone's opinion, but Obama really makes me nervous in that he stated originally that he planned to shut down the Space Program almost completely for at least five years to fund his education program.
Besides my personal feelings due to the fact that this program makes up my livelihood and is a big part of my life, I also think this would be a terrible move for many other reasons.
To not have access to space could put us in a serious predicament defensively. We have seen with the recent events in Georgia that the Russians can't be trusted. Even if they could, they have been landing Soyuz capsules way off course, violently hitting the ground, and taking hours to get to them for rescue- a real danger for the astronauts/cosmonauts.
While Obama seems to have somewhat reversed hs position on space exploration, I can't help not trusting him. No offense to those who are on board with him, that is just me.
Personally, I wish that we could go back to the times when we had a president that pretty much the whole country could stand behind and be proud of. Like with JFK. The closest we came to that afterward was probably with Reagan and it has only gotten worse and more partisan divided ever since.
I think it is a sad state of affairs.
